Soccer Game Preview: Elkhorn vs. Conestoga

The Elkhorn Antlers will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Conestoga Cougars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Elkhorn fought the good fight in their overtime game against Elkhorn North on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Elkhorn North by a score of 2-1. Elkhorn haven't had much luck with Elkhorn North recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Elkhorn's goal came courtesy of Noah Schluchter, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Conestoga after they claimed the first goal on Thursday, however, they wouldn't score again. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln Lutheran/Raymond Central/Parkview Christian. That's two games in a row now that Conestoga have lost by exactly two goals.

Elkhorn's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Conestoga, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 0-2.
