Softball Recap: Miller Grove Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Miller Grove had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 16-13 victory over the M.L. King Lions on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won six in a row.

Armonie Morrison was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mariah Presley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

M.L. King's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Miller Grove is taking a road trip to face off against Mundy's Mill at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for M.L. King, they will host McNair at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
