Volleyball Recap: Malori Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northview Academy over Seymour

Northview Academy suffered their biggest defeat since September 15th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Seymour Eagles, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on September 4th.

While Northview Academy ultimately came up short, they really made Seymour work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-12, 28-26.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malori Williams, who had ten digs and one block. Courtney Ellerbe was another key player, getting 11 digs and four aces.

Isabella Hylan went supernova For Seymour., getting 17 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Hylan is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game.

This is the second loss in a row for Northview Academy and nudges their season record down to 15-5. As for Seymour, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.

Northview Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Fulton on the 2nd. As for Seymour, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Austin-East on the 2nd.
