Volleyball Recap: Liberty Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Liberty entered their tilt with Salem on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

While Liberty won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-10, 25-14.

Liberty had a senior duo take command as Jade Acklin had five digs and four aces and Kinsey Shoup had 11 digs and two assists. Shoup has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Liberty was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive contests.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 18-8-4. As for Salem, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19-1 record this season.

Liberty will face off against Thayer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Salem, they are taking a road trip to take on Mountain Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
