Basketball Recap: Mason Kern's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Charlotte over NC H

On Monday, the South Charlotte Thunder came up short against the NC H Heat and fell 67-60.

South Charlotte lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mason Kern, who went 6 for 12 to rack up 19 points. What's more, he also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Aaron Miller was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

South Charlotte has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season. As for NC H, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

South Charlotte will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greater Cabarrus S at 9:00 p.m. on February 21st. As for NC H, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Surry HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. NC H is facing Surry HomeSchool at the right time seeing as Surry HomeSchool is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
