Basketball Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

After flying high against Noxubee County last Friday, Columbus came back down to earth. The Columbus Falcons fell 32-25 to the Meridian Wildcats on Tuesday. The Falcons have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Meridian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus will head out to square off against Neshoba Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neshoba Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season. As for Meridian, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Meridian Wildcats duke it out with the Northwest Rankin Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
