Maple Mountain faced Pleasant Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Golden Eagles fell 3-1 to the Vikings. The Golden Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 22-25, 25-16.

Pleasant Grove was led to victory by Kaitlin Stadler and Dixie Werner. Stadler had 14 digs and five assists, while Werner had eight digs and three aces. That's the most assists Stadler has posted since back in August.

Maple Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Pleasant Grove, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-9.
