Basketball Recap: Mather Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Adin Smajlovic and Jeremiah Chalwe

Mather was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 73-52 to the Schurz Bulldogs. The Rangers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Mather's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jeremiah Chalwe, who posted 16 points, and Adin Smajlovic, who had 17 points. Another player making a difference was Lucas Lambert, who put up eight points.

Mather's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Schurz, they pushed their record up to 14-11 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mather won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northtown at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mather is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season. As for Schurz, they and Alcott will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
