Softball Recap: Apopka Comes Up Short

Apopka lost against Deltona back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Apopka fell just short of Deltona by a score of 5-4. The Blue Darters have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Apopka saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shylah Pino, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Even though they lost, Apopka hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.

Apopka's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Deltona, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Apopka will welcome Windermere at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Apopka's pitchers better be ready for this one: Windermere has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Deltona, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-2 victory against Flagler Palm Coast on the 27th.
