Baseball Recap: Lassen Takes Down Central Valley in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lassen walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Central Valley Falcons with a sharp 8-2 victory on Tuesday. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Jaxon George made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Lassen is 7-1 when George allows three or fewer earned runs, but 9-10 otherwise. George was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Garate, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Lassen's record is now 16-11. As for Central Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.

Lassen will challenge Gridley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Grizzlies surely won't give up without a fight. Central Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
