Basketball Recap: Four Corners' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

If Kathleen wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Four Corners, they should've done a better job of containing Danielys Pena Ponce. The Coyotes blew past the Red Devils 44-24 on Wednesday thanks in part to Pena Ponce, who went 13-for-31 to rack up 30 points and five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Four Corners' points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Briana Carrion, who posted eight points and 19 boards. Carrion is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

With the victory, Four Corners broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4. As for Kathleen, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Kathleen will head out on the road to face off against Lake Wales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Red Devils their first taste of in-conference action this season. Four Corners will be paying especially close attention to Kathleen's contest: after Kathleen faces off against George Jenkins, they'll take on Four Corners again at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
