Baseball Game Preview: Prairie Mustangs vs. Caliche Buffaloes

Prairie is 0-10 against Caliche since May of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Buffaloes at 2:00 p.m. Prairie will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Prairie barely beat Holyoke the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 18-5 win on Monday. The Mustangs have beaten the Dragons the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Dragons has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Caliche was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They lost 11-1 to Akron.

Caliche saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tayten Gerk, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. Zachary Yost was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Caliche's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Prairie, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
