Softball Game Preview: Irvine Vaqueros vs. El Toro Chargers

The Irvine Vaqueros will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the El Toro Chargers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Irvine comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Irvine's tournament run continued when they took on Cypress on Saturday. Irvine fell just short of Cypress by a score of 6-5.

Reese Villanueva made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Abby Sasaki, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

El Toro had taken Aliso Niguel down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. El Toro lost 12-2 to Aliso Niguel.

El Toro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sadie Mitchell, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

El Toro now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Irvine, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
