Volleyball Recap: Affton Makes It Three in a Row at Home

It was a proper cat-fight when Affton duked it out with Metro on Wednesday. The Cougars walked away with a 3-1 win over the Panthers. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 4-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-17, 22-25, 25-15.

Affton found their leader in freshman Ali Meyers, who had 25 digs and six aces. Those 25 digs set a new season-high mark for Meyers.

Affton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are 8-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Affton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-12-1. As for Metro, their defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Affton will take on Fox at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Metro, they will challenge Whitfield at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give the Panthers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
