Basketball Recap: Highland Comes Up Short

Highland lost to Ontario back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Fighting Scots fell 51-40 to the Warriors. The Fighting Scots' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Highland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addi Reichenbach posted 12 points along with seven boards and seven steals. Reichenbach is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Haedyn Hughes was another key player, putting up eight points.

Highland's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Ontario, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland and Galion will round out the year against one another at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Scots will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Ontario, they will take on Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
