Elbert County takes loss despite strong efforts from Grady Jones and Landon Hill

Recap: Elbert County Blue Devils vs. Madison County Red Raiders

The Elbert County Blue Devils pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madison County. Elbert County has not had much luck with Madison County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Elbert County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Landon Hill, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds, and Grady Jones who scored 23 points. Jones scored a full 35.9% of Elbert County's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dk Winn, who scored seven points along with three steals.

Even though they lost, Elbert County were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Elbert County's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Madison County, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Elbert County and Easley will round out the year against one another at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at. Easley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Elbert County likes a good challenge. Madison County will be home for the holidays to greet Pendleton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Pendleton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
