Baseball Recap: GREEN Upstate Victorious

GREEN Upstate took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Whitmire, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Owls had just enough and edged out the Wolverines 3-2 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Owls: when they faced off against the Wolverines last Tuesday, they had to take a 12-2 defeat.

GREEN Upstate's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Whitmire, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. GREEN Upstate will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ware Shoals at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Whitmire, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Calhoun Falls Charter at 6:00 p.m.
