Softball Recap: Dayton Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Dayton's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Ludlow Panthers by a score of 6-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Greendevils as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Emily Hall, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ella Boyers, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Dayton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ludlow only posted an OBP of .294.

Dayton's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Ludlow, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8-1.

Coming up, Dayton will host Villa Madonna at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.06 runs per game on average), something the Greendevils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ludlow, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Henry at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
