Volleyball Game Preview: Arroyo Knights vs. Gabrielino Eagles

Arroyo hasn't had much luck against Gabrielino recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m.

Arroyo came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to Marshall.

While Arroyo was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Marshall's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-12, 25-15.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Wednesday. Gabrielino blew past South El Monte 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Gabrielino was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-10, 25-13.

Gabrielino is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 21 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5-1 record this season. As for Arroyo, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Arroyo suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Gabrielino in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
