Soccer Recap: South Elgin Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

While South Elgin's win against Hampshire wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Storm narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Whip-Purs 1-0. The final result isn't all the surprising considering South Elgin's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Hampshire are ranked 269th).

South Elgin's one-goal win came courtesy of Lucy Tomasi, who's now up to nine this season.

South Elgin pushed their record up to 9-7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four games. As for Hampshire, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9-1 record this season.

South Elgin didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Benet Academy on the 6th. As for Hampshire, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 5-1 defeat against Dundee-Crown on the 6th.
