Preview: East Laurens Falcons vs. Dublin Fighting Irish

The East Laurens Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Dublin Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in East Laurens' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten matches.

In what's become a running theme this season, East Laurens gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Wheeler County as East Laurens made off with a 76-56 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Laurens to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rashund Washington Jr., who scored 21 points along with five assists and three blocks. Washington Jr. hasn't dropped below 17 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyan Snead, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, Dublin came into Tuesday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Jefferson County by a score of 55-45 on Tuesday.

East Laurens is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Dublin, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-12.

East Laurens was able to grind out a solid win over Dublin in their previous meeting back in January, winning 70-60. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Dublin's Aj Johnson, who scored 28 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will East Laurens still be able to contain Johnson? There's only one way to find out.
