Basketball Game Preview: Woodland Wolverines vs. West Brunswick Trojans

The Woodland Wolverines and the West Brunswick Trojans will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Woodland saw some tournament action on Thursday. They walked away with a 57-47 victory over Scotland. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 122nd in South Carolina, while the Fighting Scots are ranked 489th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

JaKease Salley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 20 boards. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aiden Walker, who posted two points and four steals.

Meanwhile, West Brunswick beat Whiteville 55-46 on Thursday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Brunswick's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Woodland, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4.
