Baseball Recap: Bartlett Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Bartlett can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Burncoat Patriots 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since June 2, 2025.

Bartlett let Luigi Villegas and Tyler Whiting run wild. Villegas got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Whiting went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three hits gave Whiting a new career-high.

Bartlett's win bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Burncoat, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Bartlett and Burncoat could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Indians (ranked 285th) will meet South (ranked 127th) at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Burncoat will square off against Doherty Memorial at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (231 vs. 83).
