Football Recap: Jack Daulton Key Part of Team Effort in Highlanders Win

A well-balanced attack led The Woodlands over Cleveland in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Highlanders' defense stepped up to hand the Indians a 69-0 shutout. The Highlanders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 27 points or more this season.

The Woodlands' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Daulton led the charge by throwing for 114 yards and three TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. What's more, Daulton racked up 145.5 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Lincoln Halsey handled things on the ground, rushing for 82 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Another reason for the win was The Woodlands' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Cleveland's QB won't forget Luke Podowski anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Mike Tellison got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for The Woodlands and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points over those games. As for Cleveland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Coincidentally, The Woodlands and Cleveland will both be playing College Park the next time they take the field. The Highlanders will host the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Indians will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
