Basketball Recap: Virginia Academy Comes Up Short

Virginia Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prince George Royals. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Patriots came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Royals are ranked 364th).

Virginia Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Prince George, they moved to 2-16 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Virginia Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-49 loss against Prince George's Christian Academy Blue on the 1st. Prince George has also already played their next game, a 78-31 defeat against Dinwiddie on the 4th.
