Football Recap: Downers Grove North Takes a Loss

Downers Grove North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 40-0 loss at the hands of the Lyons Lions. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Lions are ranked 18th).

Downers Grove North's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Lyons, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Downers Grove North is set to square off against their familiar foe Homewood-Flossmoor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Lyons will take on rival Oak Park-River Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Lions 3.9, the Huskies 13.7) so any points scored will be well earned.
