Basketball Recap: Chippewa Falls Takes a Loss

Chippewa Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 62-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marshfield Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 390th, while the Tigers are ranked 16th).

Chippewa Falls' loss dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Marshfield, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

We've got a battle between Cardinals coming up. As for Marshfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Wausau West at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Marshfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Wausau West likes a good challenge.
