Basketball Recap: Berean Baptist Academy Skates Past Village Christian Academy with Ease

Berean Baptist Academy entered their tilt with Village Christian Academy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 75-27 victory over the Village Christian Academy Knights. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Knights are ranked 575th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Berean Baptist Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justin Caldwell led the charge by dropping a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. Caldwell's evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jeremiah Harper was another key player, going 8 of 15 on his way to 18 points and three steals.

Berean Baptist Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Berean Baptist Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Village Christian Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.
