Basketball Recap: Durham Academy Comes Up Short

Durham Academy played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 68-35 loss at the hands of the Jordan Falcons. The Cavaliers have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Leading Jordan to victory were Caroline Masella and Olivia Yancey. Masella went 8 of 9 on her way to 24 points, while Yancey went 9 for 16 en route to 20 points. The game was Yancey's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Valerie-Ange Batta, who posted five points.

Durham Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Jordan, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Durham Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ravenscroft at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ravenscroft will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Durham Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jordan, they will challenge Northern Durham at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jordan is facing Northern Durham at the right time seeing as Northern Durham is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
