Baseball Recap: Wellington Wolverines vs. Jupiter Warriors
With a playoff win on the line, Wellington rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Jupiter Warriors 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted against the Warriors since April 6, 2021.

Sebastian Burnett looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, Anthony Vargas was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Cristian Goncalves, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Wellington pushed their record up to 17-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Jupiter, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-8.
As of now, neither Wellington nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
