Volleyball Recap: Ponte Vedra Takes a Loss

Ponte Vedra came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Nease Panthers. The game marked the first time this year in which the Sharks were not able to get on the board.

Ponte Vedra was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Nease work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 26-24, 25-11.

Ponte Vedra has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Nease, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Ponte Vedra will square off against Oviedo at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Sharks are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Nease, they will be playing at home against Creekside at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Panthers have won six straight at home, while the Knights won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
