Basketball Game Preview: Union Local Jets vs. Cambridge Bobcats

The Union Local Jets are taking a road trip to square off against the Cambridge Bobcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Union Local took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Bellaire by a score of 64-55. Given the Jets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Big Reds are ranked 511th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cambridge was able to grind out a solid win over Martins Ferry on Monday, taking the game 76-66.

Union Local's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Cambridge, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Union Local came up short against Cambridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 55-49. Can Union Local avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
