Recap: Xaverian Clippers vs. Mt. St. Michael Academy Mountaineers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Xaverian Clippers can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Mt. St. Michael Academy on Saturday, falling 34-3. Xaverian's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Mt. St. Michael Academy can attribute much of their success to Carl Shaw, who rushed for 47 yards and three touchdowns.
Xaverian's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Mt. St. Michael Academy, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record.
Xaverian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mt. St. Michael Academy will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Cardinal Hayes at 10:30 a.m. Cardinal Hayes presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mt. St. Michael Academy in New York (Cardinal Hayes is ranked first, while Mt. St. Michael Academy is ranked 82nd).
