Meanwhile, Woodson's game on Monday was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of West Potomac by a score of 37-35. The matchup marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Fairfax will have to keep a close watch on Kaylen Chilton and William Taylor, a pair of players who had a big impact on Woodson's prior game. Chilton had 11 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Taylor scored three points along with six rebounds and six blocks. Chilton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kollin Morgan, who earned four points.
Fairfax's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Woodson, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fairfax has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Woodson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
