Schertz Posts Huge Game in 55-6 Win

Starting off the list is Fairland's Carson Schertz, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Schertz threw for 366 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns. He has become a key player for Fairland: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.

Fairland's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4. Schertz will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Hominy on Thursday.

A Season-Best Performance from Trey Bennett Leads Woodland over Hominy

Trey Bennett produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Woodland to the win on Friday. Bennett threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 40 yards and two touchdowns. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in November of 2023. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Woodland pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Bennett and Woodland are taking a road trip to face off against Afton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Trey'von Shine Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Trey'Von Shine produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Porter to the win on Friday. Shine rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 88 yards.

Porter's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. They and Ketchum are set to duel on Thursday.

Max Stephens Makes It Two for Fairland

The second Fairland player making an appearance here is Max Stephens, and for good reason. He picked up 214 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 94 yards.

On the year, Stephens has caught 3 touchdowns while averaging 87 receiving yards per game.
