Softball Game Preview: Independence Knights vs. Centennial Titans

The Independence Knights will face off against the Centennial Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Independence: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Centennial has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Independence's offense. They came up short against Irving on Saturday, falling 11-0.

Independence saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan McCADDEN, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Centennial). Everything went their way against Berkner on Saturday as Centennial made off with a 14-3 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Titans have posted since February 17, 2024.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Centennial, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Independence came out on top in a nail-biter against Centennial in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 13-11. Will Independence repeat their success, or does Centennial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
