Basketball Recap: Ellie Ginn Key Part of a Team Effort in Lions Win

Redeemer Christian hadn't done well against St. John Lutheran recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Redeemer Christian Lions took down the St. John Lutheran Saints 42-26. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 69-24 victory the Saints walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Redeemer Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ellie Ginn, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. The dominant performance gave Ginn a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Selena Martin, who had 13 points along with five boards and three steals.

The victory got Redeemer Christian back to even at 6-6. As for St. John Lutheran, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7.
