Preview: UIC College Prep Firecats vs. Pritzker Jaguars
The UIC College Prep Firecats will head out on the road to challenge the Pritzker Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. UIC College Prep comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for UIC College Prep, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 29-12 loss to Bulls College Prep.
Aliana Gonzalez was UIC College Prep's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Pritzker suffered their biggest defeat since November 16, 2023 on Wednesday. They were outmatched by ITW David Speer Academy at home and fell 50-16. While losing is never fun, Pritzker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while ITW David Speer Academy is ranked 226th).
UIC College Prep's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-10. As for Pritzker, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
UIC College Prep came up short against Pritzker in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 23-17. Can UIC College Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
