Volleyball Game Preview: Westborough Rangers vs. Milton Wildcats

The Westborough Rangers will take on the Milton Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westborough will be strutting in after a victory while Milton will be coming in after a loss.

Milton will be up against a hot Westborough squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Rangers walked away with a 3-1 win over Wachusett Regional on Friday.

Westborough had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20.

Leila Ditullio was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 16 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last six matches. Emily Coffin also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Westborough was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 16 aces in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Milton lost 3-0 to Hingham on Friday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Milton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Westborough, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.

Everything went Westborough's way against Milton in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, as Westborough made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
