Softball Recap: Desoto County Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

DeSoto County and Hardee squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but DeSoto County had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 10-9. Surprisingly, this marked the Bulldogs' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Layla Morales led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Juliette Wolcott, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

DeSoto County's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7. As for Hardee, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16.

DeSoto County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hardee, they will square off against Lemon Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Manta Rays have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
