Football Recap: Matt Casteel Leads Covington-Douglas' Defense on Friday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Covington-Douglas can now relate to. They came up short against the Wilson-Henryetta Tigers on Friday, falling 48-28.

Covington-Douglas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Matt Casteel. He has become a key player for Covington-Douglas: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one interception, but 3-5 otherwise.

Covington-Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 5-6. As for Wilson-Henryetta, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Covington-Douglas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wilson-Henryetta, they will welcome Okeene at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Whippets have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups.
