Basketball Game Preview: Glenvar Highlanders vs. Patrick County Cougars

The Glenvar Highlanders will take on the Patrick County Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Glenvar will head into Thursday's game on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against James River on Thursday. Glenvar blew past James River 54-21. The contest marked the Highlanders' most dominant win of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Patrick County came into Tuesday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against James River by a score of 58-48 on Tuesday.

Glenvar is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Patrick County, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-10.

Glenvar strolled past Patrick County in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 73-55. Will Glenvar repeat their success, or does Patrick County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
