Volleyball Recap: Astoria/VIT Takes a Loss

Astoria/VIT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elmwood Trojans. If the Rebels were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Trojans when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Astoria/VIT started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-19, 25-15.

Astoria/VIT's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Elmwood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Astoria/VIT will take on North Greene at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elmwood, they will face off against Havana at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
