Basketball Recap: Racine Park's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

After a string of five wins, Racine Park's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 76-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Racine Case Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (59), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Despite the defeat, Racine Park saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addison Betker dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Betker has scored all season. Mya Wendt was another key player, going 5 for 10 on her way to 15 points.

Racine Park's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. As for Racine Case, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Racine Park will be playing in front of their home fans against Westosha Central at 12:30 p.m. on December 27th. Racine Case and Wilmot will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th.
