Softball Game Preview: Warren Woods-Tower Titans vs. Bad Axe Hatchets

The Warren Woods-Tower Titans will head out to face off against the Bad Axe Hatchets at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Warren Woods-Tower has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 22.

Warren Woods-Tower's last matchup with L'Anse Creuse could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Titans came up short against the Lancers, falling 17-9.

Gabby Lewis and Atiana Guzman stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lewis got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Guzman got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Strunk, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Bad Axe's offense. They lost 7-0 to Unionville-Sebewaing on Thursday. The Hatchets' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Warren Woods-Tower's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Bad Axe, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Warren Woods-Tower might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Bad Axe when the teams last played back in May of 2017. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
