Soccer Recap: Sumner Falls Short of Newsome in the Playoffs

Sumner and Newsome squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Sumner had to settle for second. They fell 5-3 to the Newsome Wolves. The Stingrays were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Wolves earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Sumner's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Newsome, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3-1.

Sumner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newsome, they will head out on the road to take on Palm Harbor University at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palm Harbor University will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Newsome surely won't give up without a fight.
