Basketball Recap: Brantley Drops Highest Score of Season Against Pike County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brantley). They took down Pike County 79-64 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for Brantley: when they faced off against Pike County last Thursday, they had to take a 57-54 loss.

Despite the defeat, Pike County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore A'Zhoree Eutsey dropped a double-double with 25 points and 33 rebounds. With that strong performance, Eutsey is now averaging an impressive 11.4 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Cornelius Griffin Ii, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Brantley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Pike County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coming up, Brantley and Goshen will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. The Bulldogs will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Pike County, they will head out on the road to square off against Bullock County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
