Baseball Recap: East Jackson Comes Up Short

East Jackson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Napoleon Pirates, falling 17-7. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Pirates when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lucas Richardson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of East Jackson's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 5-20 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Nate Ratliff, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

East Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 7-21. As for Napoleon, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-12 record this season.
