Baseball Game Preview: Riverside Panthers vs. Madison Mustangs

For the second straight game, Riverside will face off against Madison. The Panthers will take on the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Riverside's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Madison. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Connor Newberry was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of James England, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Riverside hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Riverside has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Madison, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7-1.
