Softball Recap: Plum Mustangs vs. Chartiers Valley Colts
While Plum put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Chartiers Valley. The Plum Mustangs blew past the Chartiers Valley Colts 13-0. Fans of the Mustangs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Riley Stephans made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Lily DeLuca was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brooke Bernosky, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Plum was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chartiers Valley only posted a batting average of .118.
